First and foremost, only you can determine which Twizzlers flavors are best! However, the big question is… Have you tried them all? On then, you will know the one! As for myself, I first fell for Strawberry Twizzlers back in the mid-80s somewhere, and since then, I’ve gone on to try them all, which was a quest I didn’t intend on doing, but after seven years at Candy Retailer, and seeing all of America’s favorite candy come through the door, it eventually become a challeng to try them; well, at least all Twizzler flavors!
For a long time, there were only four flavors available. This original lineup included black, cherry, strawberry, and grape. Twizzler Black Licorice was the brand’s original and only flavor until the mid-70s. So, if you first tried this candy brand before The Seesaw Seventies, black licorice might be your favorite! However, it was during that decade that America got disco, as well as cherry, grape, and strawberry Twizzlers! By the time I rolled onto the scene, strawberry Twizzlers were everywhere, and it was the one that set the bar for all others that would follow.
Unfortunately, Grape Twizzlers were discontinued in the early 2000s, but you can still find them in the Rainbow Twizzler packs, so there’s still a chance they could return as a stand-alone flavor in the future; distant or near, only time will tell. As for the other three original flavors, they’re still around today and just as popular as ever, but not the only ones! In recent years, Twizzler has released more flavors than ever before, so many that I made it a challenge to try them all, which I’ve accomplished to date, giving me the ammo I need to rank them all and write this article!
1. Strawberry Twizzlers
Available in Twists, Zero Sugar, Filled Bites, and Extra Long, Strawberry Twizzlers are my absolute flavor, since day one! I usually go for the regular-sized Twists, but who can say no to an extra-long Twizzler? For 50 years and counting, this Twizzler flavor has proven to be everyone’s favorite, as it’s the best-selling, most widely available in the US and beyond.

2. Cherry Twizzlers
Available in Twists, Pull ‘n’ Peel, Nibs, Bites, and seasonal shapes like Bunnies, Hearts, Trees, and Ghosts, Cherry Twizzlers, without a doubt, my 2nd-favorite Twizzler flavor! If there was ever one that gave Strawberry a run for its money, it was Cherry, and I couldn’t agree with that statement more! It’s also our second-best-selling Twizzler flavor, further proving my claim.

3. Twizzlers Sweet & Sour Cherry Kick Citrus Punch Filled Twists
Available in regular-sized filled twists and filled bites, Twizzlers Sweet & Sour Cherry Kick Citrus Punch is my 3rd-favorite Twizzler flavor, no doubt about it. These launched around 2006, roughly a year after the failed launch of Twizzler Twerpz. Who remembers those? I honestly don’t. However, that wasn’t the case for Filled Twist, or this flavor, as they’re both here to stay!

4. Twizzlers Tropical Blast Filled Twists
Choosing between the previous flavor and Tropical Blast was, indeed, a tough call, because I like them both equally! This one features a pink guava flavor with a creamy, paradise punch center, making it my 4th-best Twizzlers! When I crave tropical-inspired candy flavors, this is what comes to mind. So, if you haven’t tried Tropical Blast yet, I highly recommend you do!

5. Merry Berry Punch Twizzlers
Unfortunately, Merry Berry Punch Twizzlers are only around during the Christmas season! Nevertheless, I’m always happy when they come around. These Twizzlers feature blueberry and blue raspberry flavors, but they’re green! However, if you want the ultimate Merry Berry Punch experience, you have to add the red Strawbeery Twizzlers into the mix! That’s how it’s done!

6. Twizzlers Watermelon Pull ‘n’ Peel
As for my 6th-favorite Twizzler flavor, I have to give it up to Watermelon! This flavor only comes in the Pull ‘n’ Peel version, which is just fine with me, although I’m not much into playing with my candy, so I just smash them as they come! Twizzlers Pull ‘n’ Peel came out in 1994, but this flavor didn’t land until the early 2000s. I can taste it like it was yesterday!

7. Mystery Flavor Twizzlers
First launched in 2021, I don’t know why they still call this flavor a mystery when we all know what it is, especially if you do a quick Google search! However, for the sake of this flavor being a ‘mystery,’ I’ll play along, assuming there are people who want to keep it that way until they try! Since I know the flavor, I can confidently say it’s my 7th-favorite!

8. Rainbow Twizzlers
Rainbow Twizzlers come in a single pack featuring strawberry, orange, lemonade, watermelon, blue raspberry, and grape licorice flavors! I like to mix and match flavors you can’t get anywhere else, like grape and lemonade, or blue raspberry and strawberry! I found all flavors pair with lemonade, which is what I always try to do, until I run out and have to get more creative!

9. Peach Twizzlers
I first discovered Peach Twizzlers a few years ago. At the time, they were a limited-edition seasonal flavor, which I think they still are because they’re not always available. However, I thought they were pretty peachy-tasting, I liked them, and would buy them again. As my 9th-favorite Twizzler flavor, I understand why they keep coming back every year!

10. Strawberry Smoothie Twizzlers
Sadly, Strawberry Smoothie Twizzlers were discontinued, which is why they got dropped to 10th place! The only reason I included them on this list is that I really like them, and The Hershey Company said that they’ve added them to their relaunch list, so there’s a good chance we’ll see them again in the near future! If you ever spot them again, let us know where in the comments.

11. Orange Cream Pop Twizzlers
This Twizzler flavor came out a few years ago, and was initially only available in Canada, but eventually it made its way south. However, I didn’t like it so much, so I sent it back up north! Not really, but I don’t think I’ll ever try these again. That’s only my lonely opinion, you might love them, but I thought they tasted like an orange peel, though; no cream!

12. Chocolate Twizzlers
I’m not quite sure when Chocolate Twizzlers came out; some sources say late 70s, others early 80s; either way, I somehow missed these growing up because I didn’t discover them until a few months ago! I almost don’t believe they’ve been out that long, but they have! Well, I suppose it doesn’t matter, as I don’t like these one bit, but maybe that makes me the crazy one here!

13. Black Licorice Twizzlers
Available in Twists and Nibs, Black Licorice is the first-ever Twizzler flavor to be released, and the only one for nearly 50 years! That said, I salute all those who love the taste of black licorice, but according to my taste buds, it’s my least favorite candy flavor, so that’s why I ranked it last. I know many will disagree, but just know, I’m not alone! How about you, hate it or love it?

Where to Find All the Best Twizzlers Flavors Online
The truth is, finding all Twizzler flavors online is pretty easy, but finding cases and tubs at an excellent price, you’ll have to shop around a bit, unless you choose us here at Candy Retailer! Here, you’ll find most flavors, if not all, in several package options, including single bags and bulk display boxes. However, keep in mind that Twizzlers is one of our best-selling candy brands, so they sometimes sell out fast. In that case, you may see some products out of stock, but if you request to be emailed when back in stock, you’ll likely receive good news in just a few days, as we receive new inventory daily.
