I’m not entirely sure when cotton candy-flavored candy was introduced, but I researched it and found a few conflicting dates that point back to the 1950s, with the introduction of Mike and Ike Cotton Candy, which was also the first one I remember trying as a kid growing up in the 1980s. Since then, I have tried several cotton candy products, enough to compile a list of my favorites.
Unfortunately, this candy flavor isn’t very popular, and most releases are short-lived. For example, Mike and Ike Cotton Candy has been discontinued and brought back so many times that I never know if it’s coming or going. The most recent relaunch occurred in 2025, and it’s incredible; hopefully, it’ll stay around longer this time around. However, my favorite cotton candy-flavored candies were Starburst and Skittles; oh my goodness, they were ever so delicious! Sadly, they were discontinued almost just as fast as they arrived, and nobody knows why.
Nevertheless, brands continue to release new flavors and products, so one day, cotton candy-flavored candies and cotton candy made by popular candy brands will become a permanent part of candy culture! Until then, I will only rank products that I like and that are still available today, so you can’t accuse me of teasing! On that note, here are the best cotton candy-flavored candies and products currently available on the market; please let me know your favorites in the comment section below.
1. Mike and Ike Cotton Candy
Mike and Ike Cotton Candy ranks first as the most classic version of this flavor, delivering a light texture that melts the moment it touches your tongue. This cotton candy has a straightforward sweetness that reminds me of the original fairground treat I grew up with, and it’s real cotton candy, not the chewy candies as before. I don’t understand why the brand discontinues it and brings it back so often, and I wish they’d stop doing that. It’s available now, but for how long, nobody knows. Have you tried it yet?

Charms Fluffy Stuff Cotton Candy Pops land in second place, bringing the same nostalgic flavor in a version that lasts much longer. This candy maintains its taste consistency, offering a familiar sweetness with every lick. These pops remain near the top of my ranking, making them one of the best cotton candy-flavored candies I have ever tried. Charms also makes Fluffy Stuff Cotton Candy, which is also just as good, but I like it on a stick better, though. How about you?
3. Jelly Belly Jelly Beans Cotton Candy
Jelly Belly Cotton Candy Jelly Beans easily hold the #3 spot, capturing the same flavor in a smaller version that’s easy to eat by the handful. This candy offers the classic taste in bite-sized pieces, making it simple to enjoy anytime, anywhere. 4. Pop Rocks Cotton Candy

This candy releases bursts of sweetness as it crackles on the tongue, turning a simple flavor into something more dynamic. I’ve been a fan of this candy brand for most of my life, so once they dropped this new flavor not long ago, I was all over it. Now it’s my 4th favorite.
5. Big League Chew Curveball Cotton Candy
Big League Chew Curveball Cotton Candy ranks 5th, presenting the classic flavor in a shredded bubble gum that’s easy to chew and enjoy over time. This gum is another lifelong favorite of mine, and I’ve had every flavor more than once, including this one. Speaking of, I can easily smash an entire pouch in 9 innings! These sticks stay in this position, providing the familiar flavor in a way that’s more gradual and deliberate than most of the others on this list.
8. Hawaiian Punch Cotton Candy Fruit Juicy Red
Hawaiian Punch Fruit Juicy Red Cotton Candy comes in 8th place, delivering a lighter, fluffier fruit profile while retaining the core sweetness of the flavor. This candy maintains a bright and slightly distinct taste, making it another one of my favorite cotton candies on the market today! I’m not sure how long it’ll be around, as most candies like this don’t last long, but if you’ve never tried it, I recommend you do before it’s too late! Warning, it’ll turn your entire mouth red.
9. Taffy Delight Cotton Candy Salt Water Taffy
Taffy Delight Cotton Candy Salt Water Taffy ranks 9th, offering a sweet, soft, and chewy taffy flavor that I can enjoy all day long. I first discovered this taffy here at Candy Retailer in 2024 and have been a fan ever since. In addition to Cotton Candy, Taffy Delight is also available in over 100 flavors and comes in 1lb resealable jars with approximately 62 individually wrapped pieces. If you’ve never tried this taffy before, I recommend checking out flavors today, especially this one.
10. Concord Cotton Candy Coated Candy
Concord Cotton Candy Coated Candy easily rounds out my top 10 list of favorites. You can find this option here at Candy Retailer by the pound, as it comes in smaller bite-sized blue, pink, and yellow candy pieces shaped like cotton candy! This is a hard candy, similar to what you’d find in a candy machine, but sold in a 1lb bag, so you can just dive in and enjoy them by the handful as I do. This isn’t an easy find, but if you made it this far, you just found them!
11. Aftershocks Cotton Candy
Aftershocks Cotton Candy secures the #11 spot, concluding my list of cotton candy-flavored candies! As for its last-place ranking, it’s not because I don’t like them, because I do, but I’m not a huge fan of sour cotton candy, and that’s what you get with this one! However, that is only my opinion, as you may love it and think that I’m totally out of my mind. I’ve only had them once, so I may have to give them another try before they’re discontinued, just to be sure!
