I’m not quite sure exactly when I first tried Tootsie Frooties, but it was definitely sometime in the early 1980s, when I was still a small child. Since then, it’s become one of my favorite candies of all time. Over the years, I’ve tried every flavor, including a few discontinued ones, such as Cherry Limeade, which I hope they bring back someday because they were so yummy! Nowadays, there are 11 Tootsie Frooties flavors, and like most people, I love every one of them, especially Blue Raspberry; I’ve eaten so many of those in my life, I’m surprised that I haven’t turned blue! As for my rankings, they’re based solely on my opinions, which are entirely positive since I enjoy every flavor, although some are more to my liking than others. My goal in ranking all these flavors is to help you discover something new, not to say that one flavor is better than another, as we all have different opinions, especially when it comes to food and its taste. So, without further ado, let’s eat some Tootsie Frooties!
1. Tootsie Frooties Blue Raspberry
As I revealed in the intro, Blue Raspberry is my all-time favorite Tootsie Frooties flavor! However, I have to be a little careful with this one because I can easily smash an entire bag, which comes with 360 pieces, and as you can imagine, that’s not very healthy, especially for my teeth! Yeah, they’re that addictive. In other words, enjoy them, but consider your health first and eat them in moderation. If you know, you know. If you don’t, now you do!
2. Tootsie Frooties Strawberry Lemonade
Securing the #2 spot on my list of the best Tootsie Frooties goes to Strawberry Lemonade! Like the previous flavor, I can eat these all day long, so if you’re like me, you might want to consider your health and eat them in moderation. I also like mixing these with Blue Raspberry; together, they create something truly exceptional. As with all Tootsie Frooties, they come in a 360ct bag, so there’s plenty to go around. However, how long they last depends on you!
3. Tootsie Frooties Strawberry
Next up, I have to give it to Strawberry Tootsie Frooties! When I was a kid, this was my #1 favorite flavor, but since I love them all, it’s just as good as the first two previous flavors! I also enjoy these with other flavors, especially Blue Raspberry. In my opinion, strawberry candy is either a hit or miss, but when it comes to Tootsie Frooties, it’s a homerun; they’re sweet, juicy, and super fruity! If you were to rank this flavor, would it land on your list?
4. Tootsie Frooties Fruit Punch
Securing the #4 spot is Tootsie Frooties Fruit Punch! Now I don’t know about anyone reading this, but I love this flavor, always have and always will. As for taste, it’s sweet, fruity, and punchy, just as you’d expect them to be. I’ve been eating these for nearly 40 years, and as far back as I can remember, the taste has never changed. The best way I can describe them to somebody who has never tried this flavor is to close your eyes and imagine fruit punch; the name says it all.
5. Tootsie Frooties Sour Cherry
Landing in the #5 spot is Sour Cherry, a flavor that’s been around for decades and still tastes the same as it always has. In my opinion, they’re not very sour, but still have a distinct cherry flavor. Although they are slightly sour, the taste doesn’t last long. If you’ve never tried these before, they’re a great choice when you want something sweet and sour, but not too sugary, if that makes sense! Like I said, they’re a little sour at first, but after a few chews, it’s all cherry!
6. Tootsie Frooties Watermelon
Next up is Watermelon, which has been a long-time favorite of mine; there’s just something about them that reminds me of being a kid in the summer, riding bikes and eating candy without a care in the world. I’ve mixed these with Strawberry Lemonade before, and the flavor combo is incredible. On their own, they’re just as good, and I usually eat more than I plan to because they’re hard to stop snacking on once I start. Now I want some!
7. Tootsie Frooties Mango
Locking down the #7 spot is Mango, and I’ll be honest, it took me a while to warm up to this one. It’s not a flavor I grew up with, but once I gave it a chance, I started to appreciate how different it is from the others. It has a smooth, tropical taste that pairs well with Pineapple, creating a unique yet exotic flavor that I enjoy. Although it’s not as iconic as Blue Raspberry or Strawberry, it’s still sweet, fruity, and chewy. If you love mago-flavored candies, you’ll really enjoy this one!
8. Tootsie Frooties Grape
Coming in at #8 is Grape, which has been around forever and always tastes exactly how I expect it to: sweet, juicy, fruity, and of course, chewy! I don’t usually reach for these first, but I never skip them either because they’re a classic flavor I know and still enjoy from time to time. I also think they mix really well with Fruit Punch if you’re into combining flavors like I am. Even though it’s lower on my list, it’s still a Tootsie Frooties flavor I enjoy.
9. Tootsie Frooties Pineapple
PineappleTootsie Frooties is a flavor that I think doesn’t get nearly enough credit. It’s light, sweet, and has a tropical candy taste that’s refreshing and different from the rest. I usually mix these with Mango, and together they taste like summer, if summer were a flavor. On their own, they’re still excellent, although they don’t have as much flavor as I like. Nevertheless, they are enjoyable, especially on a warm day, as long as they’re fresh, of course.
10. Tootsie Frooties Lemon Lime
Lemon Lime takes the #10 spot, and I’ll be honest with you, this one was never my favorite growing up. It’s a little tangy, a little zesty, and way different from the sweeter ones like Strawberry Lemonade or Fruit Punch, but that’s actually what I like about it now. However, I don’t usually go digging through the bag looking for these first, but when I get one, I’ll eat it without thinking twice. They’re different, but that’s the point.
11. Tootsie Frooties Green Apple
Finally, we’ve got Green Apple, and this one has always been hit-or-miss for me, although you may really love it. In my opinion, it’s tart, crisp, and has that classic candy apple flavor that you know as soon as you taste it. I don’t usually go straight for these right away, but once I start eating them, I always end up finishing the handful. Even if they land at the bottom of my list, I still enjoy them every single time, just as I do with all Tootsie Frooties flavors.

As much as I would love to tell you that Tootsie Frooties are easy to find anywhere candy is sold, it just wouldn’t be the truth.
