After years of absence, Sour Starburst is officially making a comeback in January 2026. The returning lineup will feature Sour Green Apple, Sour Blue Raspberry, Sour Watermelon, and Sour Strawberry. This marks a departure from the original 2005 Sour Starburst pack, which included Orange, Cherry, Grape, and Blue Raspberry. About a year and a half later, the mix was reformulated to Tangerine, Green Apple, Blue Raspberry, and Strawberry. While the sour line has been available in other forms, such as Mini Starburst Sours and Sour Starburst Gummies, fans have long waited for the return of the full-sized chewy format.
The official announcement was made directly on Starburst’s Instagram on September 16, 2025, where the brand confirmed the January launch. Since then, the company has gone all-in on promotion, dedicating multiple posts to building excitement around the release. The hype is already running high, with many longtime fans sharing memories of the original flavors while expressing anticipation for the new mix. By reviving the product with updated flavors, Mars Wrigley is signaling a strong push to reinvigorate one of its most requested candy products.
