Ferrara Candy Company has quietly announced the discontinuation of Fruit Stripe Gum, a beloved gum brand recognized for its fruity flavors and distinctive zebra-themed packaging.

In a public statement, a Ferrara spokesperson expressed that ending the production of Fruit Stripe was a significant decision, influenced by various aspects such as changing consumer tastes and sales trends and the overall direction of the Fruit Stripe Gum brand.

With a familiar presence in the gum market since the 1960s, this brand offered a variety of flavors, including Mixed Fruit, Grape, Cherry, Cotton Candy, Lemon, Peach, and many others. Each pack also featured a temporary tattoo showcasing Yipes the Zebra, the brand’s mascot.

Ferrara is known for producing several popular candy brands like Laffy Taffy, Brach’s, Trolli, Now and Later, Nerds, and most recently, Jelly Belly. Fruit Stripe was Ferrara’s sole gum product, suggesting their exit from the gum market.

While Fruit Stripe is no longer available, candy fans can still explore other options, like Dubble Bubble, which provides over 100 fruity flavors and is a leading bubble gum brand in the world.
