Lay’s is resurrecting a much-loved potato chip variety
Earlier this week, the snack titan disclosed plans to rejuvenate its “Flavor Swap” initiative for its third annual run. The highlight of this year’s series is a reimagined chip that combines a medley of traditional tastes.
The newly crafted Lay’s Kettle Cooked Ruffles All Dressed chips merge enduring flavors such as tomato sauce, BBQ, creamy onion, and tangy salt-vinegar.
Initially popularized in North America, the All Dressed variety appeared briefly in U.S. stores in 2015, only to be pulled off shelves in the summer of 2021. Lay’s is now reintroducing this popular snack but with a kettle-cooked crunch.
In addition to the All Dressed relaunch, Lay’s is also rolling out other nostalgic flavors like Cheetos and Doritos Cool Ranch and a new wavy Funyuns variant. While the All Dressed, Cheetos, and Doritos Cool Ranch will be limited-time offerings in August, the wavy Funyuns are slated to become a permanent fixture, as confirmed by the company.
Last year, the brand diversified its “Flavor Swap” range by adding the Kettle Cooked Fritos Chili Cheese variant, which married the smoky essence of Fritos with the crispiness of kettle-cooked chips.
