However, they did get a delivery truck in 1916, which makes them one of the oldest companies to transport products by vehicle in the United States! 

Two years later in 1918, Tootsie Roll released a WW1 advertisement declaring its support for America’s Bravest. The ad was clear, “The Greatest Deserve The Best.” Once again from 1942 – 1945, Tootsie goes to war by providing “quick energy” to American troops. According to the USMC, the candy company was known for dropping pallets of Tootsie Rolls from planes in the Korean War. The candy provided nourishment for the soldiers and was even used in emergencies to plug bullet holes! 

Not only did Tootsie Rolls earn a top spot in American culture, but they also earned a well-respected place in US military history as well. So as you can see, this all-American, iconic brand is more than just about candy, they’re about American culture and the betterment of this country!
